Nintendo has announced that North America will finally get to play Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars on the Wii U with the game set for release on the Virtual Console store.
The SNES classic wasn’t actually developed by a Nintendo studio, but by Square (now known as Square Enix) who also developed the Final Fantasy franchise.
Super Mario RPG’s features a turn-based battle system, reminiscent of the traditional Final Fantasy title.

The game is already out on the Wii Virtual Console store which you can play on your Wii U via backwards compatibility, however, you will require a Wii Classic Controller to play.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars will launch at $8.00 on June 30th.
