‘Project Scorpio’ trade-in program discussions already under way

Microsoft are already in discussions with retailers about possible trade-in deals for their upcoming console ‘Project Scorpio’.

Many retailers have offered such deals for previous consoles, but it is surprising to hear about the trade-in deal for a console that isn’t even set to release until next year.

Dave McCarthy of Microsoft gave the following statement on Scorpio’s trade-in prospects, “Some of our retail partners today do trade-in programs and that’s definitely going to be partnerships we continue to move going forward…We want to make that transition as smooth as possible.”

However, with the Scorpio supporting backwards compatibility you may not want to trade-in your Xbox One titles or controllers. Will this result in getting less money off for the trade-in? That question remains to be answered.

Xbox – Project Scorpio

Project Scorpio is set for a holiday 2017 release and has been labeled as the “most powerful console ever” featuring: 8 cores, 320 GB memory bandwidth, and six teraflops of performance.

  1. I’d happily trade in my xbox one if I could still play all my xbox one and 360 games on the project scorpio console! I can’t wait to find out more about this console 🙂
