Two New Sonic titles unveiled at 2016 SDCC

Sega caused a major shock at San Diago Comic-Con by announcing two new Sonic the Hedgehog games in celebration of the beloved hedgehog’s 25 anniversary.

Sonic Mania returns to the character’s iconic roots, built as a 2D platformer featuring designs seen in some of the early Sonic the Hedgehog games. Fans attending the Sonic party had an opportunity to try out the new title being developed by Sega of America and PagodaWest Games. Sonic Mania will launch in Spring 2017 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Project Sonic was also unveiled, there wasn’t a lot of information given at the time but it appears that the game may be similar to Sonic Generations which was released in 2011. While no official title has been given, we do know that Project Sonic will release on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo NX in 2017.
