The Nintendo Switch has enjoyed a strong start since its launch on Friday 3rd March, and reports online have been surfacing that the new device may be Nintendo’s fastest selling console to date over its opening weekend.
However, while the overall look of the Nintendo Switch has been fairly positive there have been complaints about the lack of content for the system in terms of available games and applications.
Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo America, has now spoken out about the future of the Switch and has indicated that video streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Video will be coming to the device further down the line.
“We’re talking to a range of companies about other services, companies like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon — things that will come in time. In our view, these are not differentiators. What differentiates us is the way you play with the Nintendo Switch and what you can play. And that will continue to be our focus into the future as we continue driving this platform” – Reggie Fils-Aime.
While fans will be happy to hear this statement, there was no mention of the lack of internet browser from Fils-Aime and the chances of Switch owners receiving the functionality are looking slim.
