Psyonix’s Vice President Jeremy Dunham has announced that Rocket League has hit 10.5 million copies of the game worldwide, with the total number of registered players approaching 29 million when taking into account free copies of the game given to PlayStation Plus members.
However, Dunham has also stated that a sequel to Rocket League is not currently in the works as Psyonix looks to continue building up the community that it has already established.
“Why would we want to take this huge community that we’ve already built, that’s still growing, and say, ‘What you’re playing now is going to be irrelevant in 12 months, but we want you to stop what you’re doing, giving us money all over again, and move over to this other game. That’s not the right way to do things. I think that era of games has passed” – Jeremy Dunham, Vice President of Psyonix.
Rocket League is available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
